This report briefly describes any natural ground stability hazards if they are present, which could include swelling clays, landslide, ground dissolution, running sand, collapsible or compressible ground. The report contains 1:50 000 scale geological map extracts for the area around a site, taken from the BGS digital geological map of Great Britain (DiGMapGB-50). The report could be useful for those investigating subsidence, for example, during property development or purchase.
Notes:
#1 The search does NOT cover man-made ground stability hazards such as mining. Searches of coal mining should be carried out via The Coal Authority's Mining Report Service (http://www.coalminingreports.co.uk/default.asp).
#2 Data is not available in some areas of the UK. See the report availability map below.
