The city of Leeds, in the south-west of this district, developed as a focus for industry, fueled by local coal mining, and aided by transport along the waterways of the Aire valley. This publication is the result of new surveying, and provides information on applied geology, engineering ground conditions and potential geohazards resulting from the district’s industrial past.
