Final report of the DFID KAR project R8169: Augmenting groundwater resources by artificial recharge (AGRAR).
Watershed development, with a strong focus on groundwater recharge, is being widely promoted across India. Most projects take as granted that watershed treatment leads to increased recharge and rising groundwater levels in the watershed as a whole. These changes are assumed to lead to improvements in water supply.
