This annual publication provides comprehensive tabulated statistics, by year, on minerals production, consumption and external trade to 2004, with estimates of production for major mineral commodites in 2005 and text commentary on the UK’s mineral industry in 2005. For many minerals the production data, which are illustrated by graphics, are broken down further to planning region and county level, listed by end-use.
The commodities are arranged alphabetically so that the text, tables and illustrations for each commodity are all contained in the same section. Summaries of mineral production in England, Wales and Scotland are now presented in separate tables for the greater convenience of users concerned with data for the individual parts of the UK
