This report describes the geology of the Leeds district and discusses its application in terms of land-use planning and development. The area covered in this report is covered by BGS 1:50000 map sheets Bradford (69), Leeds (70), Hudersfield (77), Wakefield (78). This report is divided into two sections; the first describes the study area and discusses planning considerations - this is done mainly in context of the eight thematic maps which accompany the report. The second section contains appendices describibg the geology in more detail and providing additional data on more specialist themes.
